Waste & Recycling: Public Meeting for local residents
Monday 1st October 2012
6.30pm at the Council Chamber, Haringey Civic Centre,
Dear Residents Association members
A new waste and recycling service is being introduced across of Haringey. This has involved a number of changes which include:
· weekly collection of recycled waste
· fortnightly collection of residual waste
· provision of new recycling bins
· free collection of bulky items.
This new service has started in central and west parts of Haringey and is about to be introduced in the east of the borough. The Environment and Housing Scrutiny Panel is assessing this new service to see how this can be improved and what can be done to encourage more people to recycle.
The panel is keen to hear the views of local residents, residents associations and community groups on waste and recycling services in Haringey. In particular, the panel want to hear local views on:
· what impact of the new waste and recycling service has had on your street?
· what barriers people face in recycling?
· what can be done to support households to recycle more?
To hear your views, the panel would like to invite you to a public meeting being held at:
6.30pm on Monday 1st October 2012
Council Chamber, Haringey Civic Centre,
High Road, Wood Green, N22
Please come along and give your views. If you would like further information about the meeting or how to make a specific presentation to the panel, please contact the panel support officer at the details listed below.
