About us
We are the local residents’ group for Russell Park (formerly known as Noel Park Park!).
We exist to:

help create a well-maintained and safe public park which can enhance the quality of life for local people
-
protect, conserve, enhance and promote the nature conservation value, and heritage of the park
-
encourage and support participation in park activities
-
promote sustainable practice in the park

NEXT MEETING :
Please find attached agenda amended to take account of the AGM (and a few additional items) and amended constitution with proposed amendments in track changes. The changes merely clarify the original constitution which was drafted before most of us moved here.
It will be a good meeting, there is now more life in the park because of more activities held in the park so do come along!

Large area of ‘Mounds’ cleared and new family picnic area created as part of a Park masterplan

Newbenches, litter bins and dog bins

Cleared overgrown flowerbeds and planted bulbs across the park

Secured funding for dog-free area and new entrance

Planted new shrubs and cleared litter in a group action afternoon

Helped to make a success of ‘Paws in the Park’ special event for dog owners

There is still, however, a big drive to make the park more community-friendly and really one of the hubs of the community, especially amongst the current cuts to parks across the borough. The Friends of Russell Park group meets once every 2-3 months to discuss issues regarding the park. If are passionate about your community in Noel Park and want to see the park flourish and provide fun for as many people as possible, contact the FORP group for more information of how to get involved.

Park Alert!!
It is up to us to make sure problems in our park get reported!
CRIME & ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR – depending on how serious, call 999 for URGENT incidents, 101 for non-urgent (eg. if you have been threatened by someone or by their dog). Also, call the Safer Neighbourhoods Team on 020 8721 2678, they will attend if they are on duty.
MAINTENANCE ISSUES – eg. cleanliness, repair of park equipment, call Haringey Council Parks Department on 020 8489 2604.
